MEET THE TEAM
Jonathan Hunter graduated with a BA in History and an MSt in Modern Jewish Studies from the University of Oxford (Brasenose College). Before helping to found The Pinsker Centre, he was the Campus Director of StandWithUs UK and a member of the Union of Jewish Students' National Council.
Development Director and Co-Founder
Sami Steinbock graduated with a BA (Hons) in International Politics from King's College London achieving an Associateship of King's College (AKC) and an MSc in Real Estate Investment & Finance from Henley Business School. Before helping to found The Pinsker Centre, he was the Minority Outreach Director for StandWithUs UK, a representative for the Union of Jewish Students' to the Board of Deputies of British Jews as well as a student activist.
Lawrence Rosenberg graduated with a BA in History and Politics at Manchester University, where he was previously president of the Jewish Society. Lawrence has extensive volunteering experience in youth leadership, including work as a senior mentor for DebateMate and roles within the Jewish Lads and Girl's Brigade (JLGB). Lawrence has also previously spoken in Parliament in defense of his Zionism and has twice been elected as a representative to the National Union of Students (NUS).
Josh is studying History, Politics and Economics at University College London where he is currently the Jewish Society Events-Officer. Now in his final year, Josh continues to facilitate events and campaigns aimed at challenging accepted views and igniting quality discussion regarding Israel and Middle-Eastern diplomacy. He joined the Pinsker Centre with hope of being able to make a lasting difference to student life and discourse on campus.
Asal is a Law student at Queen Mary University, currently on a year abroad at Bocconi University in Milan. Asides from her activities aimed at propagating overlooked voices in the Middle East across London campuses, Asal experience in both the legal industry and the world of start-ups. She hopes to pursue a career in the legal industry with a focus on tech and intellectual property and ultimately realise her dream of making Aliyah.
Avi Garson was born in London and grew up in Gibraltar. After school he attended the world-renowned Gateshead Talmudical College and thereafter resided in Jerusalem for a year. In 2019 he graduated from City, University of London with a BSc in Politics and is currently working towards a MSc in Security Studies at UCL. Outside Pinsker, he acts as Director of Football at Faithfold FC and is an avid enthusiast of modern history and Jewish Philosophy.
James is in his final studying Political Science at the University of Birmingham. James has been a proponent of free speech and advocate for greater student exposure to Israeli voices on campus, as well as an ardent campaigner against antisemitism by serving as President of Birmingham Jewish Society.
James was elected President of the Union of Jewish Students in December 2019.
Co-Founder & Consultant
Ben graduated with a BA in History from UCL in 2016, having co-founded the UCL Friends of Israel Society and served as Campaigns Officer for UCL Jewish Society. During his time at UCL, he coordinated a series of anti-racism and political-engagement campaigns across London campuses targeted at enriching student discussion surrounding International Relations and Middle-Eastern diplomacy. Thereafter, Ben was accepted into the IDF Paratrooper Brigade where he served as a Lone-Soldier and Commander.

Charles graduated from Kings College London with a BA in History, he then completed a MSc in International Public Policy at UCL. During his time as a student, Charles organised numerous tours for speakers of international renown across UK universities. Thereafter, he worked for the Civil Service on the UK's preparations for Brexit.
